| Note | The “G. Moretti Archaeological Museum”, named after the well-known archaeologist from S.Severino, has recently been set up in the ancient Bishop’s Palace in the medieval centre of Castello al Monte. It displays the Pascucci Collection (more than 2000 finds collected and catalogued by D. Pascucci in the late 19th century). There are numerous bowls (Kotylai) imported from Corinth, decorated Piceni helmets, armour, swords and the tips of two sceptres. Notable is also the local pottery, peculiar for its horse-shaped handles and for the plastic decorations portraying the “Lord of the Horses”. Many finds come from the ancient Roman town |
